Kevin, Zalika's husband, began to play tabla
at age 29 when persuaded by Zalika to join her in a tabla class. Kevin
enjoyed the classes. He soon found he had a talent for drumming and so
began his love of percussion instruments. His teacher, Jack Kourani took
him under his wing encouraging him in to further his studies and begin
his own classes. Kevin has a broad knowledge of Middle Eastern rhythms
and how these rhythms relate to the dancer.
