THE SHOW WILL BE HELD AT THE ELIZABETH EAST RSL HALL. Jamil Gamal Workshops Workshop A – Ghawazee Picture yourself in the dessert on a warm night. Inside your tent music starts playing and you start to hear saggats (zills) playing in the distance. Slowly the sound of the saggats gets louder and louder all of a sudden a group of Ghawazee enter the tent……. Come and experience the world of the Ghawazee people. In this workshop you will be taken on a journey through the different dance techniques. Of course this wouldn’t be Ghawazee choreography without some saggat technique as well. This choreography is suitable for all dance levels. Previous saggat technique would be an advantage but it is not essential. Workshop B – Oriental This is my all time favourite song ever!!!!! Ya Habibi Ya 3ani is a song that has touched me my whole life. I first remember hearing it when I was about 3 years old and I have loved it ever since. Within this workshop we will explore many facets of dance and performing. The one thing I request from all participants is to FEEL the music with every fibre in your body. If we look to the Middle East and see the Masters like Nagwa Fouad, Souhir Zaki, Nadia Gamal, Fifi Abdou, Dina, Tito just to name a few, all these dancers feel what they dance and that is the objective of this workshop. All dance levels welcome. All you need is your passion for dance!
